I received a different container than I declared. What should I do?

Such a situation should be reported to the BOK of the Department of Municipal Economy or by emailing bok@czystemiasto.gdansk.pl. Each report is considered individually.

I have nowhere to put the waste bins. How do I solve this?

Where it is not possible to designate a waste collection point on one’s own property, owners of several properties may agree and designate one common waste collection point. They may also apply to the Municipality to enter into an agreement to lease land for a waste collection point.

How and where to prepare a place to put the waste bins?

In areas at the property owner’s disposal, e.g:

  • In the rooms on the ground floor of the building
  • On a paved and suitably prepared area outside the building
  • In the constructed underground waste tanks

Who decides which bins will be placed in the rubbish shed?

The municipality is obliged to collect any amount of municipal waste. Not all waste is collected from the arbour. Waste such as renovation waste, electro-waste, hazardous waste should be collected and delivered for management on your own. The number of containers should be adapted to the amount of waste produced by residents, if you need to add/remove containers, simply report this (by the administrator only) to the WGK Customer Service at bok@czystemiasto.gdansk.pl. Very often the arbours are not adapted to the needs of the residents and therefore the necessary containers.

The waste bins in our arbour are too small – rubbish notoriously spills out of them. How do we keep such a place tidy?

It is possible to order larger containers. To do this, the manager or administrator should contact the customer service office and request a replacement container by telephone or e-mail: 58 731-64-64, bok@czystemiasto.gdansk.pl. Perhaps it is not a problem of the size of the bins, but of the correct preparation of the waste before it is thrown into the bins. We remind you to crush cardboard boxes, cartons and plastic bottles, which saves a huge amount of space in the container.
