How often is waste collected?
A detailed waste collection schedule is available on the website www.czystemiasto.gdansk.pl, here. There you can check what type of waste will be collected from a specific location on a given day, including bulky, hazardous, green waste, etc.
Who is responsible for preparing the waste collection site?
In accordance with the provisions of the ucpg Regulations, it is the property owners, not the municipality, who are obliged to designate and appropriately prepare, at their own expense, waste collection sites (MGO) that allow for the placement of containers and bags, taking into account waste segregation. The organisation of MGO should be based on the guidelines set out in the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 12 April 2002.
No collection due to failure to complete the declaration formalities. Why was the container removed from the uninhabited property?
Due to changes in the GOK System in Gdańsk introduced on 1 February 2020, municipal services are gradually and successively withdrawing municipal containers from uninhabited properties.
Therefore, in order to ensure continuity of service, owners of uninhabited properties should, as of 1 February 2020, equip their properties with waste sorting bins (5 fractions) and submit a declaration changing the amount of the fee with effect from 1 February 2020, indicating the number and size of containers for collection and the frequency of collection.
The new declaration should be submitted to the Customer Service Office at ul. Partyzantów 36 (building D) after making an appointment by telephone (58) 731 64 64 or sent by post to the above address. Owners of uninhabited properties have the option of purchasing their own containers or leasing existing containers from the company providing waste collection services in a given sector. Detailed information can be found at www.czystemiasto.gdansk.pl.
Instead of a bin in front of my house, can I put out bags of the same capacity?
Multi-unit properties must be equipped with containers for all waste fractions, while single-family homes must have containers for organic and residual waste, as well as bags for paper, glass, metals and plastics.
In the event of a short-term increase in the amount of bio-waste and green waste (e.g. grass, leaves), it is permissible to use compostable bags and other bags for residual waste, paper, glass, metals and plastics with a capacity of 80 to 120 litres. The colours of the bags used should match the colours of the containers used.
