Other information
- Green waste is collected from single-family dwellings together with the bio waste fraction (what does not fit into the bags placed next to the bio bin),
- For multi-family dwellings, there is the possibility of ordering a container for green waste (as before), but no more often than once per calendar month; notification is made by a representative of the housing association or cooperative at the waste collector serving the property (PreZero or GUK) as indicated on the website – www.czystemiasto.gdansk.pl.
- If green waste is collected in containers, waste is thrown in bulk, bags are not used at the same time
- Green waste can also be collected in bags and left at waste collection points (MGO), from where it will be taken away by a separate transport; it should not be put in the brown bio waste bins.
- It is planned that the collection of bags will take place once a week, the waste will be collected by the waste collection company according to the green waste collection schedule given on www.czystemiasto.gdansk.pl,
- It is advisable for the representative of the community or housing association to notify the company collecting waste from the property (PreZero, KOMA or GUK) to collect the bags of green waste left at the waste collection point (MGO) at least 2 working days before the day of their scheduled collection,
- The bags should be placed at the waste collection site untied, in a way that allows air access to the green waste collected in the bags,
- Green waste bags are provided by the property owner (as before) – colour of bags – other than red, blue, green and yellow (which colours are assigned to other waste fractions), capacity from 80 l to 120 l, with a thickness of not less than 60 μm, made of LDPE or HDPE polyethylene film; green waste collected in system bags intended for the collection of recyclables will not be collected,
- Residents of properties in multi-family housing can continue to put small amounts of green waste generated in their households into the brown bio waste bins.
- The frequency of collection of bio waste from the brown bin will not change – in multi-family dwellings, collection takes place twice a week, green waste collected in bags or container will be collected additionally.

Ash
Ash rules (particularly relevant during the heating season)
Ash is municipal waste, with which we have a big problem in winter. The Gdańsk waste management system treats ash as non-segregable waste, so it should be disposed of along with residual waste. It is important to remember, however, that only cooled ash without a source of potential fire can be put into the above containers. Unquenched ash may cause a fire in the waste bin, the shed or sometimes the entire house. In individual situations, it is possible to notify the municipality in writing of the need to replace a plastic container with a metal one.
