WEEE = Waste from electrical and electronic equipment.
The WEEEWaste project focuses on the need to implement a coordinated European approach to the management of waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). It aims to implement better national, regional and local policies for the management of this waste (WEEE), incorporating the main recommendations of the “Circular Electronics Initiative” from the EU “Circular Economy AP” on a closed loop economy.
The ultimate goal of the WEEEWaste project is to promote the reuse, collection, recycling and other forms of recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment, thus supporting the implementation of the European Commission’s WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU.
Partners from 8 regions: (Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Spain, Romania, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia) will exchange ‘good practices’ to modify their waste management policies.
As part of the project, a Market Analysis in waste management in Gdańsk will be developed, aimed at supporting local policy instruments in this area as well as the Local Action Plan.
